Committee Picks Holes in Publicity Code

Interesting news that the DCLG Select Committee has been critical of the proposed new local authority publicity code in its report on the draft code. The revised code always appeared to be over the top in its dictates on a local authority’s ability to communicate with residents, and run counter to the localism agenda. We wait in anticipation to see Eric Pickles’ response, but this has got to be good news for the future ability of councils to tell people what they do and how residents can access services.
